Wearing slacks is good. Try for professional and business-like. If they voice any misgivings tell them, "I can do this job if you give me a chance." I know they aren't likely to come out and say we don't hire women, but a positive attitude will help, I'm sure. Good luck!
*nods* I'm very much going to go for the professional look. I'm going to go over interviewing skills with a friend of mine, so I'll try to keep a positive attitude in mind! Thanks!
Thanks. *nods* My hair is cut short and I'm going to wear slacks and minimal makeup (foundation and lipstick). It's just frustrating, because I feel that I would have a really good shot at the job if it wasn't for the not hiring women thing. Gah!
Hmm. That raises another question, actually. I don't know if you remember, but I have two holes in my ears. I'm just wearing one set of post earrings right now, but I don't know how noticeable the 2nd set of holes are. It might be better to put in a 2nd set of post earrings.
And you're right, a discreet necklace might be good as well.
Oh, LWDF. *sighs* I'm kind of hoping that their prejudice is more towards women doing fieldwork, as awful as this is, because I just want one of the administrative positions. Still, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too hard, but it's difficult.
