spring is here, spring is here, time for skittles, time for beer!
It's like somebody flipped a switch in the sky, and it's now seriously SPRING. It's warm out, and I'm wearing sandals and shorter skirts and no leggings! I'm seeing my students without coats for the first time in MONTHS. It feels hopeful, as if we might survive this long, hectic year.
I went to a crawfish boil today, a sure sign of spring in Louisiana. Good food, good people. I'm also looking forward to spending spring break with
marathoner452 in Maryland in a couple of weeks. I'm planning on walking more, and eating more salads with spring greens.
I'll be also interested in hearing what everybody's favourite things about spring are, if y'all want to share!

My Deviant Art (http://ecaterin.deviantart.com/) account has all my photos on it - feel free to check it out (I usually post a round-up of DA photos over on my LJ at least once a week, but DA gets daily updates and more descriptions and such) :)
Even when I was majoring in science, it was biology, and not a "proper" had science, like astrophysics. But I love baking cookies with my girlfriend, and putting together folder games for my students, and I might start knitting this summer. And, you're right, Ekaterin both excels and is imminently comfortable in this domain, so maybe it's okay that I like it too.
Exactly :D *does happy-to-find-like-minded-females dance*

Those of us with few spoons better at least keep our silverware polished and at the ready :)
*shakes hands* Glad to meet you :)

Dealing with it positively, finding a way to be a complete human being while being eroded daily, monthly, yearly from the inside...while fighting that constant fight....it shapes everything about you.
Because that's it, *exactly*. The illness makes you, for better or worse, and you have to find a way to live. Like finding your niche in the ecosystem.
I also like keep our silverware polished and at the ready because spoons can be like swords at times, weapons you use to get through the day. *g*

I subbed in kindergarten again today. I thought you might find that to be funny. I was really flattered, actually, because the teacher was in for for testing recommended me for the office when this other teacher called out at the last minute.
Spring means fewer dark cloudy days and fewer excuses to lie around in bed and be moody and sad and keep my pjs on all day.
