In my last post, I said I would explain why I said/asked this:

"Since I'm comparing European and American customs anyway: If you all would be willing to do me a favour, please fill in the blank in this sentence -

I'm going back to ____ [place of residence - i.e. flat, apartment, house]"

What I wanted to find out is who uses "my" and who uses "the" in describing their place of residence, because my Dad insists that "the" is the more Irish/English usage. (*glomps* [livejournal.com profile] daegaer and [livejournal.com profile] bejiin for answering the poorly-worded question) What I mainly found out is that I'm bad at asking questions like this. ^^;;;

Moving on, I'm finding that reading Allen Ginsberg's "Howl" causes the phrase 'heterosexual dollar' to become stuck in my head, while reading the whole of Charles Baudelaire's book of prose poems Paris Spleen causes me to wonder what sort of the crack this famous French poet was on. So, tonight, I am going to read something that will actually make sense: Lois McMaster Bujold's new fantasy novel Paladin of Souls. ^_^

Goodnight, all.
