Genetics Lab Angst
Feb. 5th, 2004 01:01 amArrgh. Lab today was frustrating - I started later than everybody else because I couldn't find where the prof had put the extra ice:
Me: Where's ice?
Prof: *vague pointy gestures*
Me: wild goose chase
*grrr*
Where's ice?
Prof: Across the hall.
If he had just said that in the beginning...Anyway, because of that I (and my horrible slow pipetting skills, to be fair) I get to spend an extra hour in lab on Monday 'cause I didn't get to finish the experiment. (Though I did get out early today.)
Still, it's better than taking another lecture class. After that Microbial Genetics Class of DooM last semester, I'm just as happy to be messing around in a practical, bad pipetting skills or not.
Actually, with all the classes I'm taking this last spring semester of undergrad (Thesis Research, Brit Lit II, Virgil, Genetics Lab, Advanced Poetry Writing, Physics), I only really mind the physics. The prof's decent, and I'm getting the material, but it just seems rather pointless to be taking something I don't need or want at all. Perhaps my friends are right, and I am rather mad to be doing both an English and Biology degree. ^^;;
The Latin is really cool, though. If I don't get into grad school this year, I might come back and do a Latin degree, just for the hell of it. ^_;
And if the last post didn't make things clear enough, I am such a geek.
