that kind of music just soothes the soul
Apr. 5th, 2009 02:18 pmI'm alive! Right now, I'm taking a wonderful break in New Orleans with
marathoner452. We have had margaritas and traded books, one lovely church service and are now taking coffee and internet in her new neighborhood coffeehouse. We're going to go and walk in City Park next and enjoy the beauty of spring in the city.
I'm soon to be done with roommate madness, and by this time next week I'll be sleeping in my new apartment, all by myself, and with a BAY WINDOW. I've always wanted a BAY WINDOW. I'm getting rather ridiculously excited about it, if you can't tell. *g* I plan to do lots of baking to celebrate! ^_^
Next week is also spring break, which I'm looking forward with the reverence most people reserve for either great food or great sex. More than a much-needed break for work, it means that the school year is almost done, and that I survived. I'm really hoping I get to come back to my school next year; I love what I'm doing here, even if it's sometimes exhausting, and I love the idea of being able to hit the ground running - now that I know (a bit more) what I'm doing!
Finally, I had a really good writing group this Saturday, right before heading down to New Orleans. I find myself more inspired to write than I have in months as a result. While I do have a short story in the works, I really also want to write some poetry for spring. So, if you give me something - a character, a phrase, an emotion, an object, whatever - I'll write you a poem. (And if you want a fannish poem, give me a fandom!)
