The season of light! And fic!
Dec. 25th, 2008 04:12 pmHappy Christmas and Happy mid-Hanukkah and Happy Day-Before-Kwanzaa and Happy Four-Days-After-Solstice if you celebrate and a merry Thursday if you don't, and light and love to all! *hugs flist*
I'm having a truly lovely day with my sister and my mom, who had both travelled long distances to get here. &hearts We had had coffee with gingerbread syrups in it, at least three different kinds of baked treats (and more on the way) and opened presents! Yay for Canadian chocolate and gloves, Japanese manga and candy, and American YA lit. ^_^
I also got a very nice and shiny candle garden from one of my students (well, I suspect his mom picked it out, since he's only 7. *g*) It's kind of appropriate, since I dreamt about all my students last night (We were in a classroom/store and listening to holiday music. When I had to leave, I said "I'll see you not this Monday, but..." and they all chorused "next Monday!")
And then I read my Yuletide fic! It's called All Abroad, Mr. Monk and it's the best thing EVER. No, seriously, the way I would summarize this is that Monk goes on a cruise, and it's even worse than he expected. It's a small, delightful casefile - go and read it now!
