ekaterinn: (EMO! - selphish)

So, been back from Atlanta trip for a little while now. [livejournal.com profile] amai seems to love Agnes Scott, and orientation there reminded me of my own Honors College, so that was good! I also got to see [livejournal.com profile] bejiin! We drank Irish coffee and replayed FF8: the Harry Potter Remix (whereas we renamed Squall "Harry" for his scar and sulkiness) and generally had fun. If I can, I'm going back up later this fall to bring [livejournal.com profile] amai the beanbag she left here and visit the loveliest southern city again.

I wrote some poetry there, and I'm now in the midst of writing [livejournal.com profile] mkultz's drabblet and a gen RayV fic for the latest [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction challenge, so writing stuff is going well.

I missed my flist though, and haven't been able to get the time to do more than skim some of the later entries, so tell me if I missed something important, k?

*grins* EMO is a kind of music that's usually very depressing (emo=emotion) and people who listen to it are often depressed. There's more - a whole '90's subculture thing, but I really don't know much about it - I just like the icon!

Had a dream while you were away that we were all in the Atlanta airport waiting for separate connecting flights. Amai was going to visit buddyblue (and bringing Brenna with her). You were sitting by yourself writing a twelve page poem. It was going to be twelve pages, you told me, because that is how long it takes to write genius. When I asked what it was about your shushed me. And the dream went on.
Not for too much longer because soon after that I was another person, but it was an interesting lay over anyway.

*laughs* That's really weird. But you'll have to admit my genius now. *evil cackle*

I've been reading All Deliberate Speed (about Brown vs Board of Education) and been having dreams about desegregation, myself. ^^;

I'm not sure that the crown room has a lot to do with desegregation, unless it's segregating us from the tourists

*G* I'm not sure our two dreams mesh then!

Unless your poem was an ode to the epic struggle of the oppressed masses.

Of course! And surrealist, too - that's what makes it genius! ^_~
