I have a place for September! It's got light, a kitchen and furniture. The only thing that might be a bit iffy is internet access, but there should be cheap high-speed available for me to get set up (and maybe I'll be really lucky and they'll be bootleg wireless in the area). I have the keys and everything, and since I don't really need to be on campus until Sept. 4th, I won't have to come back to London until then - which gives me almost two months in BR once I get back from Halifax.
Anyway, today was lovely. I signed the lease in the morning and went for a swim. Then Ann and I went to pick Charlie up from work and we drove out to Port Stanley, which is a beach town off of Lake Erie. We stopped at a water gardens place on the way in (since Ann wanted to get stuff to patch up a leak in her pond) and let me tell you, the guys who work there were seriously hot. It was like I stumbled onto the hidden hotness of southern Ontario! Very nice.
After Ann got what she needed and Charlie bough an Easter Island head replica thing (about three feet tall and majorly heavy) that laid belted in next to me in car for rest of the trip, we drove into Port Stanley. We walked along the beach there, and I tried to skip stones (conclusion: I was much better at this as a kid) while Ann and Charlie talked and many different breeds of dogs barked at us.
We got dinner at the Kettle Creek Inn, which was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful hot pickerel fillets and plenty of wine (I shared a bottle with Charlie). We sat outside, in the warm sun - I don't think I've felt this relaxed in a long time.
For dessert, Ann and I got ice cream sundaes at the local ice cream parlor. Mine was a carmel apple sundae, with mind-meltingly good vanilla ice cream, carmel and baked apple. Mmmm.
Tomorrow I go back to Toronto, and then onto
aishuu's, so, hopefully the next time I post will be from her place. ^_^
