Happy Birthday,
narnia_girl! Much luck and love to you this year, dear.
For myself, this weekend has been a blur of socialness. *grins* I went to the English Department reception last night at the Grad Club. Free wine (two-and-a-half glasses), free beer (one pint of the dark stuff) and free munchies (two platefuls). Mmmmm.
I met: the head of the department, the creative writing prof (had a long conversation with him about anime and Paris and the lengths one goes to get published), the writer-in-residence, an Irish professor emeritus who went to UCD, an American who knew where LSU was and an out-of-place looking instructor who I talked twentieth-century lit with. Not to mention a lot of other grad students. It was like a deliberate overdose of Department people, given under the anesthetic of drink and good food.
This afternoon, I participated in the Coffeehouse at the Alex P. Keaton. I read three poems and didn't die of embarrassment on the spot; it's been my main accomplishment today. *g* Tomorrow,
the_acrobat and I are going to try to go exploring again - in the meantime, I suppose I should do some reading. Or writing.

Date: 2005-09-18 12:20 pm (UTC)U of T is as sprawling and sometimes pretentious as ever, and the boy is cute if slow. Hopefully after we play some video games or something he'll catch up. -_-; At any rate, he's fun. ^_~
